An Autumn For Crippled Children - As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes

Overall: 85/100

Legendary post-rock, atmospheric black metal band An Autumn For Crippled Children releases their ninth studio album ‘’As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes’’ which is more melodic, heavier, and brighter.

Days are in the yellow leaf, the flowers and fruits of love are gone. The worm, the grief, and ‘’As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes’’ is ours alone!

Starts with the single ‘’Carefully Breathing’’ A Beautiful melodic riff surrounds the atmosphere along with solid, heavy drums. Production quality impressive throughout the album. You can hear every detail of every instrument. Vocals are like love or hate things. I especially loved them because they equalizing the feelings, add depressiveness while instruments play a happier tone. Great melodic riffs lead through the half and complete the song impressively.

‘’Of Your Light’’ begins with technical drums and beautiful keyboards that sound like White sounds from the deep oceans. Continues with depressive riffs and vocals. Bass sounds strong and heavy, masterfully crafted melodic riffs take the song to the troposphere and keyboards bring the clouds. A masterpiece from start to end. One of the best in the album.

Slow-paced bass guitars and ambient keyboard elements build the ‘’In Winter’’ harsh guitar riffs drives throughout the song, jazz-like drum works standouts and enhanced the song’s technicality.

The title track ‘’As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes’’ begins just as ‘’In Winter’’ But it is darker, heavier. After the spooky intro, a heavy riff and drum combination comes in, keyboards play their scary patterns. But I especially get in loved with melodic death metal-like riff. Builds the song impressively. Another great one to the discography.

Closing this journey with ‘’Last Night I Believed In You’’ This one is a mix of everything, heaviness, excellent keyboards, depressive vibes, and much more. It is the last serenade of this living organism.

Overall, this is a very good album from a great band. All instruments are perfectly mixed and played. Joy, fear, sadness everything is there.
